West Bengal University of Tecnology has been established under the West Bengal University of Technology Act,2000(West Bengal Act XV of 2000) with the objective of organising undergraduate course of studies in Engineering and Technology,Post Grduate programme in basic and applied science,framing curriculum,conducting examinations and issuing final degees. Besides,Univesity will develope centre of excellence for higher studies and research.Further,it will create awareness and will offer consulting services to Industries,and other organisations in the emerging areas with special emphasis on improving existing engineering and techonology colleges by developing facilities for research in engineering & technology as well as basic and applied sciences, and also imparting education and carrying out research in management, responsive to global changes in technology and the need of the state of West Bengal.
All the processes of admisson in multipl disciplines, conducting examinations, issuing certificates of degree examinations and other administrative prcocess have been regularised by maintaining a computerised environment to get place in the modern world.
Working in tandem with the industry, and feeling the pulse of yhe future demand of the technologists,the University has already committed to develop dedicated and skilled human resources.
All Government and self-financing Colleges of West Bengal are under affiliation of this University.
